I loved this app but they want you to pay for this now.. what a shame
  • Great app, great recipes. Definitely worth the $3/month

This is a fantastic app. With this app I don't need to go anywhere else to find recipes because I know the recipes (and the user comments) will lead to a great meal. Yes having everything for free is great, but at $3/month with the annual membership this is still a fantastic price. Who owns an iPhone but can't afford to put $3 a month towards improving a skill we all need to do everyday day for the rest of our lives?
  • Not worth $4 a month

It's bad business to give a product out for free and then, without warning, switch it to a paid subscription service. Either start as a free service and stay that way, or charge a fee from the beginning. There were some good recipes on NYT, but nothing that is worth $4 a month when there are plenty of other free sites with better recipes. Also a paid app should work better than this one. It's clunky and poorly laid out. Design a better app, charge less, and then maybe I'd think about a paid subscription. Right now it just isn't worth it and I doubt it ever will be.
  • No Thanks - Bait / Switch

    By Troy Donahue
Too many quality cooking apps out there to have to deal with the NYT bait and switch tactics.
  • Love the recipes

But do not like that I cannot print them from the app. I have to use a web browser, go the website, find the recipe then print. Very poorly designed app!
  • My time and lifesaver

I use this app nearly every day when concocting a dinner with whatever is on hand. Nearly always come up with something interesting. Search works well, and the recipe collections by chef is a good way to browse. I do not quite understand the complaint I saw about cost. It is free with any NYT subscription. I think it is reasonable to charge non subscribers.
  • My go to cooking app!

    My go to cooking app!
  • Lower the price

    By Wifey
I used this app for years and saved a lot of recipes in my account. Now I have lost access. Lots of good recipes. However, you have to draw the line somewhere on subscriptions and this one just isn't worth the price.

  • Easy to use & beautiful

    By Talimander
Love the search feature--it's easy to find quick, simple recipes (a must in our house with two small children). Photos are beautiful. Superb place to store recipes for future use. Love all the variety.
