I have been a fan of this game since 2010. However, there are a lot of legitimate English dictionary words that are "unacceptable?" I have emailed tech support on a few occasions with no reply or fix. For example: why is "Jihad" acceptable but not "widget"??? Many more...

  • Getting Boring, Still Basic Fun

If you are looking for a basic Scrabble type game that works, look no further. Developers, please make it more fun by adding variety to earning badges. It used to be more than than total points. Now that’s the only way and it’s become dull.

I have not earned a badge since February 19. Weekly goal set way too high... I had a prior freak win week Guess I’ll try Zenga support. I don’t think they read these
  • Game breaking dictionary essentially flawed

This game’s dictionary is unsuitable for word gaming. Just read any of the example sentences in the game’s provided definitions- idk who filled out the example sentences, some of which are unfamiliar with the words, sounding them out like slang without correct context, or worse, using the word as a person’s fake ethnic name! Rule breaking acronyms are randomly permitted, like: DUI Rule breaking detached prefixes and suffixes are permitted, like : SYN Meanwhile common words with legit prefixes suffixes and even correct plural spellings attached are randomly not allowed! Examples: HEALINGS, TAQUITOS, UNWITTY, UNBARREN, FRACK, UNTRANQUIL... many of these words are listed as “related forms” in the dictionary! Well clearly the game can’t recognize the related forms! Broken! Sometimes the word you are looking for is even used in the provided definition’s example sentences, yet is not allowed. Example: POSH will play, and POSHED is used in the example, but cannot be played! The worst is that ads will pop up, interrupting the exact moment of the flow of the game where you would want to brag to or taunt your opponent, after making your move. The result is an un-“friend”-ly atmosphere where players rarely talk to each other in the chat feature. Playing a real word game, one could laugh, bend rules, play words loose and fast, and challenge the rule bending plays, ultimately creating an interactive experience between players. One would have thought a system could exist where regional players upvote or downvote word legitimacy, creating a valuable etymological asset outside of the game. Unfortunately, Zynga is stuck on servicing the casino advertisers (the worst ads I’ve ever seen) not players or the social organism altogether.
  • How are non-words words & words not words?!

Only have a 1-star rating because one cannot leave a review with ZERO stars. Played for years. Hate scrabble & the like, but this is now not even enjoyable. WILL BE DELETING because I don’t continue to promulgate the idiocy of the less intelligent. I take that as a learning opportunity to expand horizons and upgrade intelligence vice being an accomplice to it’s downfall. I’m fairly intelligent, and possess a strong use of the [American] English lexicon (vocabulary words). Words with Friends is now contemptuous, trite, fake, & ridiculous. How in the name of intelligence are words actually in the Merriam-Webster dictionary not allowed in the game - while abbreviations and words that are NOT words permissible?! I don’t mean names that can be used across the lines of official names (personal pronouns) like “J-O-E” that is allowed because it refers to a cup of coffee (noun) in context ONLY; but the word “E-S” is allowed because it stands for the title of “El Salvador” when referring to international vehicle registrations? I know that as a way to make English words plural, ditto for Spanish - but is not a word by itself in English... Where is your bank of words derived from, and what basis do you allow personal pronouns in one case not in others like “J-U-N-E” and won’t accept the abbreviation thereof? Take this as a moment to not participate in the decline of American intelligence; and instead use it as an opportunity to upgrade it and remain in sync with the book that defines the words that occupy our vocabulary.

I find this game a lot of fun. Although I am starting to play only females when choosing a new player. Come on guys I just want to play. This is not where I would pick up guys any way. I only use the chat for people I know, family, or on holidays. I have no interest in picking up guys at my age anyway. And by the way I report and block these people.
