KEY FEATURES ============================= Keep track of your baby’s mental development Learn all about the leaps and bounds and the fussy phases of your baby Read the bestselling Wonder Weeks book here in this app Take notes about a range of topics Think of it as a portable, at-a-glance version of the calendar leap chart in The Wonder Weeks. Where the book describes in-depth and easy-to-understand terms the incredible developmental changes your baby goes through, the app is the perfect leap calendar companion to track your baby’s mental development (during the first 20 months).
By knowing what is going on inside the head of your baby, you can help him to make the leap more easily and stimulate his development. The Wonder Weeks app helps new parents by:

 - Calendar Showing when your baby makes a leap in his mental development
 - What your baby can understand & learn after this mental leap
 - What your baby can do after this leap
 - What you can do to help your baby

This app is also a handy reminder for new parents when their baby’s brain is changing, or “leaping,” the baby is making a significant advance in mental development, and with each step forward comes a drastic change in the way your baby sees the world around him. Because these leaps come so quickly, the “new world” and new abilities can sometimes be scary, and the development can initially manifest in poor sleep, bad appetite, crying, clinging and crankiness – exhausting and frustrating mom and dad.
International experts on The Wonder Weeks:
“This is a very practical and entertaining window into the baby’s first year and a half. van de Rijt and Plooij have observed and found the vulnerable times in an infant’s development that I independently came to in my book Touchpoints (Perseus Books Group). The authors’ observations and practical suggestions are wonderful.”
-T. Berry Brazelton, M.D., professor emeritus, Harvard Medical School

"Anyone who deals with infants and young children will want to read The Wonder Weeks. This book will open parents' eyes to aspects of their children's growth, development, changing behavior, and emotional responsiveness that they might otherwise not notice or find puzzling and distressing."
-Catherine Snow, Ph.D., Shattuck Professor of Education, Harvard Graduate School of Education

This is not an “app” it’s a bunch of ripetitive words in every section. You can find all those infos (and more) just googling.
  • Not what I was hoping for

I was really excited about this app but once I got it I quickly realized it’s pretty useless. A day by day app would be nice but it goes by leap periods. So basically it has told me nothing helpful so far other than she’ll experience a leap soon. Google is free and offers far more insight than this app.

I don't normally purchase apps but ended up buying this one because many moms recommended it. To second what others have said--it reads horrible and is repetitive in parts. It's almost like it was written in another language and then translated through a computer (only way I can think of how to describe it). Also, many of these milestones are already on a free app I've been using. Not impressed for the price.

I got a new phone and wanted to see if I could re download without having to purchase again. I emailed 3x with no response. Dissappointing.
  • Confusing app layout...

My baby was born 3 weeks early and I don’t feel like using his due date is providing accurate information. I also find the app design confusing as far as layout and information.

It’s a paid app, but in my opinion, it’s well worth it. It lets the user know when each leap in development is happening, and describes in depth the signs, the moods, and the new abilities. It even suggests games to play with your baby that are appropriate for each development phase. It has really helped me identify when my baby is approaching or actively going through something, and prepare for behavioral and mood changes that accompany it.
  • BEST $3 you will EVER spend!

This is the most accurate, most reassuring app I have ever purchased. It brings me so much sanity knowing that these leaps and fussy periods are apart of the growth spurt and knowing what to expect.

For me, hearing “sometimes they just cry for no reason!” isn’t good enough for me. I want to know why! This app really has helped me to understand and sympathize with my baby when he is going through something life changing that I otherwise wouldn’t know he was experiencing. On harder days, it’s much easier to give my little one extra grace when I know that he isn’t just “crying because babies cry!” But Instead because he is going through a major developmental leap. This app helps to explain that!
  • Wish I had this for baby one!

Seriously this app and the books, have made understanding baby #2 so much easier! I love the fact that it gives me ideas to entertain baby for the current state of development- and to know when the “hard” times are on the brink of being calm for a while ! I recommend this to all moms new and pros ;)
