This the best note taking app with the apple the apple pencil so far. It lacks some features, already mentioned by other reviewers, that need to be addressed soon, otherwise it will lose to the competition as soon as they improve handwriting capabilities and smoothness.

Im not sure if its just my iPad or the app itself but it crashes a lot and theres black boxes sometimes. When it crashes it loses all my work and i have to restart. Really useful otherwise

This is my most used app for school and I love it but the most recent update keeps freezing on iOS 11. I won’t be able to open a document after saving it and when I restart the app the loading screen stays indefinitely until I restart my iPad. Please fix ASAP!
  • Love it. One simple bug

I simply love notability... however, there's a couple of issues that I keep facing that ruin the experience for me.. - When receiving PDF via airdrop, I always had the option to ”Add to this note,” however, since this last update it always exists the note & I have to navigate through all of my notes just to add the PDF to an existing note. - Lots of bugs like random lines drawing across the screen, crashes, freezing - Takes a very long time to open notes sometimes - When I have the Text tool selected and I highlight two different but close sentences, then I try changing the color of one, it almost ALWAYS chooses the other, bigger, highlight to change. Even after I clearly press on the correct sentence using my Apple Pencil or my finger. Please fix this asap it is getting very irritating. - Please add the option to move multiple pages at once in the same note & to other notes as well - Add a pitch black theme!

I like the app, but recently, I have not been able to search for specific words within my documents. For some reason, Notability will search for the word indefinitely without yielding any results. I wish someone would fix this, as it has proven to be a serious issue

Would be better if you can make the highlights more punchy like how one note has it when using a highlighter.
  • One Minor Complaint

This app is almost perfect. I would like to see a split screen feature where I can open 2 notes at the same time, like the split tab option in Safari. Less of an issue and more of a suggestion.
  • Great app...

This is an excellent note taking app and pairs well with the Apple Pencil. However, when writing, the app periodically freezes your writing and creates a pen line that stretches over the whole screen. This happens several times a day when using the app and has been happening more often with the recent update. Please add more colors!! The current ones are getting old
  • Crashing

I love this app. I’ve been using notability since I was a junior in high school and now I’m a junior in college and still use it daily. However, these past few updates it has been crashing every time I try to make a highlight while on my phone. The computer app is great and has never crashed. Also, I thought it crashed bc it’s a big file (imported pdf book), so I tried to just annotate one chapter (via pdf printing only about 20 pages of the book and importing them back into notability), but I keep getting the same problem. All of a sudden it just crashes and exits the app. Could you please fix this bc it would make my studies more efficient and allow me to read my book while on my phone, instead of having to pull my laptop out. I'm using a brand new iphone 8 so it’s clearly not a slow hardware problem. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
