Pokémon GO has now introduced social and trading features that allow Trainers to connect with each other by adding friends, sending Gifts, and participating in a new Friendship level system that unlocks bonuses. Trainers can now trade Pokémon with other Trainers nearby, earning a Candy Bonus for the Pokémon received. Join Trainers across the globe who are discovering Pokémon as they explore the world around them. Pokémon GO is the global gaming sensation that has been downloaded over 800 million times and named "Best Mobile Game" by The Game Developers Choice Awards and "Best App of the Year" by TechCrunch. Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu, and many other Pokémon have been discovered! Pokémon are out there, and you need to find them. As you walk around a neighborhood, your smartphone will vibrate when there’s a Pokémon nearby. Take aim and throw a Poké Ball… You’ll have to stay alert, or it might get away! Search far and wide for Pokémon and items Certain Pokémon appear near their native environment—look for Water-type Pokémon by lakes and oceans. Visit PokéStops and Gyms—found at interesting places like museums, art installations, historical markers, and monuments—to stock up on Poké Balls and helpful items. Catching, hatching, evolving, and more As you level up, you’ll be able to catch more-powerful Pokémon to complete your Pokédex. You can add to your collection by hatching Pokémon Eggs based on the distances you walk. Help your Pokémon evolve by catching many of the same kind. Choose a Buddy Pokémon to walk with and earn Candy that will help you make your Pokémon stronger. Compete in epic Gym battles You’ll join one of three teams and battle for the ownership of Gyms with your Pokémon at your side. As your Charmander evolves to Charmeleon and then Charizard, you can battle together to defeat a Gym and assign your Pokémon to defend it against all comers. Team up to defeat powerful Raid Bosses A Raid Battle is a cooperative gameplay experience that encourages you to work with up to 20 other Trainers to defeat an extremely powerful Pokémon known as the Raid Boss. If you succeed in defeating it in battle, you’ll have the chance to catch an extra powerful Pokémon of your own! It’s time to get moving—your real-life adventures await! • Trading.. really?

    By Josh0370
Remember that time trading was supposed to be available before this game even came out? Great news! It’s available but only for players at max level (40) but no worries, it only takes a few years to max out. Besides, the trading feature was only supposed to be released two years ago so it’s cool
  • Newest update

Have to be level 38 to enjoy the friend features? That's not what was advertised when the update came out. Was told you could start friendships and trading Pokemon at level 10, kind of makes me not want to play anymore if those that aren't level 38 are not allowed in on the fun. Thanks for not including everyone!
  • Trading & Friends

I really like Pokémon but with the new updates date being added I think friends and trading should be for any level and not just for lvl 40. That is unfair for most people because most people aren’t level 40 and most people has been waiting for this update mostly trading since the beginning of Pokémon Go.
  • Social update = trash

First off a friends list should have been a day one feature but now youre telling me that niantic adds it in and holds it for ransom with a requirement of level 40??? What video game in history every asked its players to max their level before allowing them to add friends?!? This is just a bone head move like maybe its very memory consuming or something but please lower it to atleast 20 or 30 this is actually so dumb, ive been playing since release! All of my friends and I play it very casually, i treat it more like a collecting game than worrying about cp and fighting gyms all the time but none of my friends are even close to 40 including me so this is nonsense.

Haven't been able to play the game for a month now.
  • Friend update is stupid!!

    By ExplodeAttack
Being level 40 to have friends is ridiculous!! I never seen a game do that before. It’s unfair with someone like me that has a chronic illness that I can’t walk out a lot. I’m never gonna reach there. I’m super disappointed

  • New Update

So I’ve been playing this game since the beginning! I loved it, it was a lot of fun me and my GF walking around catching Pokémons. We stopped playing because i had to leave for the Military and now that I’m back I see that you can have friends and trade! But you have to be a certain Level? Why? That makes no sense to me. I really hope you guys fix it. I am no where near the level you want us to be and probably won’t get there anytime soon. I really hope you guys take that off.
