I have been keepinga joumal for a long time now, not for posterity but as a pensieve for my inner monologue. I have found doing so helps organize my thoughts. This app has it all. Pros: Multiple journals can be created. All sorts of secondary information can be added. From locations, tags, and even whatever song you had stuck in your head. Even a calendar visual for the days you have created entries. Apple watch app allows for dictated additions to today's logs. Cons: integration with PC platforms is still limited, and the day one website does not allow for web based entries. Finally the book printing function is a good idea, but not $24.99 good. Either way, if you want a diary or journal app, forget Office 365, because Day One has no equals.

Day one has been my companion for a long time. All my most important thoughts and emotions are there. It's way more than an app for me.

A lot of successful people do well because they are able to keep a clear head. One of the ways that they do that is to write their thoughts down. The more you can clear your head and keep a record, the more that you can focus on your priorities, and then revisit when you need a reference on good ideas or thoughts. Day One has served me well, especially since it's always at my finger tips. Definitely worth the price if you're willing to use it.

Love Day One. Polished, solid, has the right features. Mac and iPad versions. Too bad it's not on Android 😜

I have massive depression with psychotic features. And journaling helps me log my mood to help find triggers.
  • A Great Way To Keep Track Of Memories and Projects

I've been using Day One before they went to the subscription model, so I was one of the few that was "grandfathered" into their free option of creating up to 10 journals. After making the decision to start writing all my thoughts and other writings in Day One instead of Evernote, I'm noticing that after a week, I'm now writing more in here than ever before! The main catalyst for me writing about things starts with a picture. As the days progress, different moments come forth: Some expected, and many unexpected. To capture them, I simply take a picture of them. Then, later on, I write about them either on the iPhone (if out and about) or on the Mac. Thus far, I've had no syncing issues whatsoever with Day One. Everything is working as it should! Also, it's helpful to initiate their widget in the Widget screen, which allows you to see how many words you've typed on a given day via a graph. All in all, I highly recommend this app because it's one of the few apps out there that really tends to "get out my way" when inclined to write about something. That feature is why I'm going to stick with it for the foreseeable future.

All is well with this journaling app but the tags should be alphabetized.

I purchased this app for $5 a couple of years ago, deleted it when I was asked to pay $5 more for it which I didn't do. Decided to check into it today to find I'm expected to subscribe now to use an app I paid for which is course I won't do. Paying any company to hold my data hostage until I pay more, sorry I wont do it. I will never subscribe to ANY app, make the app better, give me useful features then maybe I would pay to upgrade. This app hasnt done that.
