I really wanted to love Disney circle and circle go. It’s interface is incredibly easy to use, and I have found the technical support and support people very helpful and willing to answer the numerous questions I have had. I do love the filtering system and the fact that I can blacklist specific websites. I love that I can set individual time limits for specific apps. I like the new rewards system (though there is room for improvement), love the ability to quickly pause our child’s device, and much more. Here is where it falls short. And these things are extremely annoying. 1) The time limits are inaccurate! This is incredibly frustrating, as it makes our children feel like they are being punished. Even when my children’s phones are turned off and sitting beside me for a half hour, when we turn them back on, their devices will often show that they has been active for 15 or 20 minutes, or even that entire 30 minutes! This means that even when they are inactive, it is eating up their approved time. Support recommended that our children force close any apps or webpages when they are not actively using their device. We tried that, but it did not solve the issue. One of the biggest problems appears to be messaging apps like Instagram and Snapchat. I think that anytime someone sends a message, it counts towards a time limit. Disney circle needs to find a way for the program to differentiate between when someone is actively using the program versus when the phone is turned off and it is just receiving messages and notices. 2) circle go seems to slow down my children’s devices and ability to use their apps when they are not on a Wi-Fi connection. It slows it down to a point where it is almost unusable. If this doesn’t seem to improve, I don’t see much point to having the circle go subscription, and I will need to cancel it and find a different solution. 3) circle go needs a “safe Wi-Fi” feature, so that it has the ability to detect when a child’s device is on a safe and monitored Wi-Fi location, such as school, so that it will then shut down its VPN. Other programs have this feature, and I think it is extremely important. Currently, when my children are at school, they cannot get onto their school’s network. Yes, they could use their cell data, but see number 2 above. 4) The website history log is confusing to read and decipher. It cannot differentiate between websites your child has actively visited, versus sites required and accessed by apps and programs on your child’s device. For example, many apps utilize specific analytics data, and these websites will show up over and over and over in the history log. It ends up being difficult to tell what your child has actually visited, versus what is just running in the background while they were active on their device. 5) I love the new rewards ability, but it isn’t set up the best way, in my opinion. I find it confusing. Additionally, it would be incredible to see Disney add some features that I think would really help set it up as the premier parental monitoring and filtering system. These include: getting notifications/warnings when your children are sending or receiving potentially troubling messages or social media posts (sexting, drug/alcohol references, gambling, bullying, depression/self-harm/suicide, etc), and also the ability to monitor and watch out for your children setting up additional email and social media accounts without their parents’ knowledge. There is lots to like, but the downsides have become very frustrating, and the time limit feature is almost useless to us at the moment. I’m hoping they figure out a way to fix this and make it more accurate soon!
  • Needs enhancement

This is a great app and device. It tends to go offline occasionally, but it's infrequent enough so it's not a big deal. One huge thing that is lacking is the ability to set up warning alerts for users when they're getting close to their time limits. That little fix would save a lot of slammed mice and angry shouts from those in the middle of heated games who are suddenly cut off without warning.
  • iPhone X update needed.

Need to update app for iPhone X
  • The only problem, is not a Circle problem

    By JamesShinevar
I love how much control and insight this provides into my children’s device usage. The only problem is that Circle GO creates a VPN connection and that causes Netflix and Hulu to stop working when not on the home WiFi. Netflix and Hulu need to realize that many people want to use VPN’s for personal protection. They need to stop blocking them.
  • Free version was bad paid is worse

    By frownie56
Had the free version, thought buying it might improve but only made it worse I’m expecting a full refund
  • Unable to activate premium features in trial

    By MelkiteZ
So far the app works but I’m unable to use the Premium features. It says I’m using the trial but app is still in basic mode. So.. if I can’t use the premium features I will have to delete the app. But basic mode works fine.
  • Every Family Should Have this

    By DJ Damage
This is the only product that I know that actually works to give you control over your home Internet. It is not only effective it is the most user-friendly solution on the market. Also support is responsive and works to improve the product constantly. I recommend purchasing a Netgear nighthawk router that have Circle built it. If you already have a router use it to extend your network as an access point. Suggestion: it would be great to see the site categories when you look though history next to each site. It can be a little confusing to know what types of sites some categories will block. But again totally worth it, everyone should have it. So happy that you have partnered with netgear.
  • Filter changes won't save

    By jhwang
I have not been able to save Filter changes since the last update. Click Save and it stays on the same screen with changes NOT saved. Tried on iPhone and iPad. Response from developer said to connect by Ethernet and restart. I was already connected by Ethernet and had already restarted and a second restart did not help. Update 2.0.10 did not fix this. I had to create a new profile for my daughter and that one functions fine.
  • Circle

It WAS great but now we have to pay to use any of the services... I could just put parental controls on Wifi and have saved myself 100 bucks on a device to pay monthly to use now... So stupid and frustrating.
