  • Greedy and unrealistic overpriced furniture

    By anonagony
The app was really really fun at first. My goal is to exercise my shopping part of the brain that’s in need of new things and stimulation. Hoping to cure my shopping/debt issues. You know the capitalistic disease know as the USA haha. Without spending any real money on it. Boy Was I wrong. The items they sell are not “real life prices” . They are %75 marked up. So this makes it really hard to just let go and have a fun shopping trip. instead I’m buying the cheapest items and doing a lot of rooms, it’s better practice and cost effective the more I spend the faster I level. They also claim to give free items when you reach a level. You do get some. Maybe 1 out of 10 items are free. It’s a great game if you play an hour a day to the daily and save up to get the nice stuff . instead of doing a bunch of crappy rooms. Just to level . Most people want to play a lot like myself. So it’s not a great game for everyone. When I got about 4 low scores in a row on very expensive nice room I them immediately deleted the app. I’m sure there are a lot of other apps to play. After voting on the rooms I saw a lot of bad stuff I like to spend time on the room like taking an hour looking at lamps for example. I love that stuff. Anyways after that happened I realized they were bias and so is there automated voting. All the rooms with 5.0 scores had the same items and didn’t even look nice. I think the computer generated voting auto picks up the most expensive items. Something is weird about it the voting seemed screwed. I hope this helps to anyone looking for ways to be creative without breaking the bank. It’s prolly not for you.
  • Meh

Technical problems for weeks now. My account keeps disappearing and coming back, ever since the last app update. It disappears for 2-4 days at a time, making me miss out on many challenges, and then my inventory gets low. Design Home really needs to fix these bugs. It takes all the fun out of playing the game. It’s just not worth the frustration, and I’m not sure how much longer I can deal with it.
  • Take reviewers’ suggestions

    By Sophie 1986
I hope they take the suggestions from some of the reviewers. I like the game, but it could be better. I definitely agree that after you earn rewards you should be able to keep them indefinitely in your inventory. I also agree that it would be nice to earn more diamonds by voting.
  • Good game but could improve

    By Jdjdjdkke
I really do like this game, but I wish that there was a way to make more money and get more diamonds because the money goes by so quickly and the contests don’t give back nearly as much. The diamonds also go by really quickly. I recommend that you do some type of daily reward system where you can get diamonds and money daily. Over all it is a good app though.
  • Bait and Switch SCAM

    By LAFonh
I really enjoyed this first. If you’re reading this review, I’m sure you will as well. After a month of playing daily, I’m done. Many of the other reviewers will say the same things: 1. To complete a challenge well, you’ll likely have to spend $2000+...and the reward is $500. You will end up in the hole every time. This is a very quick way to hate the game. 2. Be prepared to eliminate all of your creative flair to get good judging scores (which you need to win special items). I love color, but have quickly learned that using beige/white/black/grey is the only way to win. Borrring. 3. The Deal Breaker: the app developers have partnered with this SCAM of a marketing company. To earn credits to get key items, you can complete challenges through the paid advertisements. SPOILER ALERT: you’ll NEVER see those credits. Meanwhile, the marketing company has taken off with your info. I’ve contacted both the marketing company (who don’t resppnd) and Design Home (who passes the buck to the marketing company). —>Design Home, if you’re reading this, you should fire the marketing company and lawyer up. Sooner or later you’ll get sued.

I think the game needs more ways to win money.
  • New

I’m new to the app and right now it is amazing. But I have a question. Do I have to waste real money on furniture? I’m guessing not but I just want to make sure.
  • Love the concept, execution needs work

    By markdtla
I’ve been designing rooms on the app for about a month now, have reached level 10, garnered 3 “5” ratings. In doing so, have spent close to $100 not to mention the number of hours planning and selecting furniture choices to create rooms that meet requirements. I have enjoyed it and have been a bit obsessed with it. However, I’ve quickly learned it’s all somewhat “bogus” in how it works, particularly the voting process. Given the range of people voting and their taste levels and experience with design, it’s extremely subjective and not based on how well you met the requirements. Some of the top rated designs I’ve seen I’m shocked that they would rank as a “5”. Second issue I have is the art selection and how random it is not to mention, bad choices. Art sometimes make the difference in a great design and you are either forced to choose from inappropriate options or use nothing. Lastly, as much as I spend buying new items, I should own those items in my inventory for as long as I play the game and be able to use when I want or need to versus pay for the same item multiple times. Again, it’s a fun, engaging game for design enthusiasts, but unless how the game works changes for those of us who are in it that are really skilled at designing, I fear won’t keep playing and move on to something that is more rewarding. I’m adding to this review to let the developers know until you change the things I and many, many others have noted, I’m done spending time and money on this game. I’m sick and tired of bad design that doesn’t meet specified requirements receive 5 ratings when the time and effort I put into my designs is rewarded with lower ratings because those that think they have talent don’t know what good design is and vote accordingly. I’m moving on.
  • Money pit

After purchasing several items you can imagine my dismay to realize you only get to use them a certain number of times before they disappear. A waste of money and time. I am deleting after I hit submit on this review.
